Founded on April 1, 2019, the SAP Institute was created to answer a critical question: How do we sharpen our engineering edge to drive continuous, breakthrough innovation? Launching our inaugural cohort in October 2019, we set out with a clear ambition to cultivate a world-class engineering community that seamlessly connects cutting-edge technology, business, and human-centered design.

We refuse to settle for passive corporate training. Built from first principles and led by active practitioners, our immersive model deliberately pushes engineers out of their comfort zones to solve real-world challenges with real stakes; creating a culture where people experiment, learn from failure, and grow into inspiring role models.

Brought to life inside our custom-built, 55,000 sq. ft. flagship space in San Ramon, California, this philosophy fundamentally shifts how people think, learn, and collaborate empowering SAP’s engineering talent, strategic customers, and partners to not just adapt to the future, but actively build it.
